Gibson named Cumberland Security Bank's Employee of the Year

Mike Simpson, CEO of Cumberland Security Bank, is pleased to announce that Judy Gibson has been named the bank’s Employee of the Year for 2007. This award is given annually to the employee who exhibits extraordinary work, cooperation, loyalty, dedication and willingness to go above and beyond the call of duty. Gibson has been with the bank for 28 years and is experienced in many different areas of operation. She started in the bank’s bookkeeping department and from there moved to teller and then customer service. After a few years, she was promoted to branch manager and loan officer. Most recently, in 2004, she was named Vice President of Loan Servicing. Gibson is a graduate of the Kentucky Bankers Association General Banking School, the Kentucky School of Banking, and the Kentucky Bank Management Institute of Western Kentucky University. She is a member of Campground Baptist Church and serves as the church’s organist. Gibson resides in Somerset with her sons, Jared and Blake.

Todd elected Chairman of the Board at Cumberland Security Bank

Mike Simpson, CEO of Cumberland Security Bank, is pleased to announce the recent election of Frey Todd as the bank’s new chairman of the board of directors.

Todd has had a long career in the insurance industry, having worked for Frankfort-based Investors Heritage Life Insurance Company since 1962. He is currently a regional manager for the company. He has been a leader in the Eubank community for years, serving as the mayor since 1972, and as current president of the Eubank Ruritan Club.

Todd was originally appointed as a director for First State Bank of Eubank in 1983. In 1985, First State Bank merged with Bank of Somerset, and Todd continued as a director for the newly formed Cumberland Security Bank. In April, his fellow board members elected him to succeed former chairman W. O. Newell, who passed away in March.

Todd is a member of the Eubank Church of Christ. He and his late wife, Ann, have two children, Mitzi Denney and Michael Todd.

Atwell joins staff at Cumberland Security Bank

Mike Simpson, CEO of Cumberland Security Bank, is pleased to announce the recent addition of Susan Atwell as Senior Vice President. Atwell has over thirteen years of banking experience, having served as a commercial credit analyst and senior loan officer prior to joining Cumberland Security. She graduated from the University of Kentucky with a Bachelor’s of Business Administration degree in Finance. She is also a graduate of the Kentucky Banking Association’s General School of Banking and the LSU Graduate School of Banking.

In addition to her service at the bank, Atwell is also active in the community, serving as the Accounting Chair for the local chapter of the American Cancer Society. She is a member of the Business and Professional Women group, and is involved with the Chamber of Commerce and the Lake Cumberland Board of Realtors. She and her husband Seth reside in Somerset with their two sons, Zach and Mason.

Ross receives promotion at Cumberland Security Bank

Mike Simpson, CEO of Cumberland Security Bank, is pleased to announce the promotion of Mark Ross to Executive Vice President. Ross has been with the bank for nine years and is a commercial lending officer at the Main Office in downtown. He has a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration from the University of Kentucky and is also a graduate of the Kentucky School of Banking and Commercial Lending. In addition to his service at the bank, Ross is a member of several local organizations, including the Somerset Morning Rotary Club, Pulaski County Home Builders, and Somerset Board of Realtors, and is currently the President of the Somerset-Pulaski County Chamber of Commerce. Mark and his wife Talara reside in the Shopville community.

Employee of the Year

Mike Simpson, CEO of Cumberland Security Bank, is pleased to announce that Lynn Goforth has been named the bank’s Employee of the Year for 2006. This award is given annually to the employee who exhibits extraordinary work, cooperation, loyalty, dedication and willingness to go above and beyond the call of duty. Goforth, who serves as the bank’s Bank Secrecy Act Officer and Deposit Compliance Officer, has been with the bank for four years. In addition to her service at the bank, Goforth participates in fundraising events for various local charities including the March of Dimes, American Heart Association, and American Cancer Society. She is also a member of the Lincoln County Homemakers Association. She is a member of Goodhope Baptist Church. Goforth resides in Waynesburg with her husband Jonathan.

Knight, Coldiron appointed Directors at Cumberland Security Bank

Mike Simpson, CEO of Cumberland Security Bank, is pleased to announce the recent appointment of two new members to the Board of Directors.

Cumberland Security Bank welcomes Mark Knight as a member of its Board of Directors. Knight is an Attorney at Law and has practiced privately in Somerset since 1977. He graduated from Centre College in 1974 with a degree in English, and graduated from the University of Louisville’s School of Law in 1976. He also attended University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee. Knight is a member of numerous legal associations, including the Kentucky Academy of Trial Attorneys, Kentucky Bar Association, Florida Bar Association, American Bar Association, and Pulaski County Bar Association. He is also a member of the Board of Directors for the both the National and Kentucky Chapter of the Workers Injury Law and Advocacy Group. Additionally, Knight is a past President of Blakely Family YMCA and was a member of its Board of Directors for twenty years. He and his wife Pam have two children, Matthew and Katie.

Cumberland Security Bank also welcomes Chris Coldiron as a member of its Board of Directors. He is a 1986 graduate of Somerset High School, and a 1989 graduate of Eastern Kentucky University, where he earned a Bachelor’s of Business Administration degree. Coldiron has fourteen years of experience in the banking industry, serving as an Executive Vice President and a Commercial Loan Officer. In 2003, he founded Elm Street Capital, a local investment company. Coldiron is a member of First United Methodist Church in Somerset. He and his wife Karen have three children: Elizabeth, Daniel and Sarah.
